Privacy and cookies

Last updated 17 October 2026

This page covers this website, emberpc.uk. It does not cover the Ember app, which has its own privacy notice. The short version: the site has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and sets no cookies.

Who is responsible

The site is run by Ol775, an individual, as part of the free and open source Ember project at github.com/Ol775/ember-pc. Ol775 is the controller of any personal data described here. To ask a question or use your rights, open an issue on that repository (please do not put personal data in it). To report a security problem privately, follow SECURITY.md.

What we collect

We do not ask you for any personal data, and the site has no forms, accounts or comments. We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not use any third party scripts, fonts or embeds. The fonts are served from this site.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives technical details of each request, such as your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser and device type. It uses them to deliver the site, keep it secure and defend it against attacks. We do not use these details to identify you and we do not combine them with anything else. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (UK GDPR and EU GDPR, Article 6(1)(f)). Cloudflare may process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area, under the safeguards described in its privacy policy.

Links to GitHub, where the downloads, source code and issues live, leave this site. GitHub then acts under its own privacy statement.

Cookies and similar storage

This site sets no cookies. It can use your browser's local storage, which is covered by the same rules (the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the EU ePrivacy rules), in two ways:

NameWhat it holdsWhyWhen it is setHow long
ember-consentYour answer to the question in the banner, "yes" or "no"So we do not ask you again. Strictly necessary to respect your choice. When you answer the bannerUntil you clear your site data
ember-site-themeYour chosen theme, tint and accent colourSo the look you picked is still there on your next visitOnly if you answered "Remember my choices" and then changed the lookUntil you clear your site data or choose "No thanks"

If you do not agree, your look choices still work, but only until you leave or reload the page. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings. Choosing "No thanks" deletes the saved look from your device. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the site works fully either way.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you can ask to see the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive a copy. You can withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold no personal data of our own about site visitors, in most cases there is nothing to provide, but you can still ask, and we will reply within one month. Cloudflare holds the request logs described above, and you can approach it too.

If you are unhappy with how your data is handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or to the data protection authority in your own EU country. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children

The site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this changes, for example if analytics were ever added, this page will be updated first and the banner will ask you again before anything optional is stored. The history of the page is in the public repository.
