Terms and legal notices

Last updated 17 October 2026

The rules for using this website, and the notices that go with it. The Ember software has its own Terms of Use, which you accept when you install it.

Who we are

This website is run by Ol775, an individual, as part of the free and open source Ember project. It is not a business and nothing here is sold. The project and the way to contact its author are at github.com/Ol775/ember-pc: open an issue, or follow SECURITY.md for a private security report. The site is hosted by Cloudflare.

Using this site

You can browse and share this site freely. Please do not misuse it: do not try to break or overload it, or use it to spread anything unlawful. The source code of the site is published with the project under the MIT licence. Third party names and logos are not covered by that licence.

Information, not advice

The site describes Ember as it is meant to work. Features marked Beta or Experimental may not work on your hardware. Screens, figures and game titles on the demo are drawn for illustration and are made up. Nothing here is professional advice.

Your hardware and your responsibility

Ember controls real fan speeds and lighting on your PC. A wrong setting, a motherboard that behaves differently from what Ember expects, or a bug can make a PC run hotter or louder, become unstable, or in the worst case be damaged. Ember has safety limits, and they are not a guarantee. Check your temperatures after you change settings. The full terms are in the app's Terms of Use.

Trademarks and independence

Ember is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NZXT, MSI, Govee, Logitech, Philips Hue (Signify), Nanoleaf, Razer, Corsair, OpenRGB, SignalRGB, Noctua, AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, Valve, Epic Games, GOG, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, TP-Link, Shelly, Elgato or any other company named on this site. All product names, logos and brands are the property of their owners. They appear only to say which products Ember works with. Logo artwork comes from the open Simple Icons collection. If you own a mark and want it removed, open an issue and it will be taken down.

No warranty and limits on liability

The site is provided "as is", without any warranty, so far as the law allows. We try to keep it accurate but do not promise it is complete, current or always available. So far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage that comes from using this site or relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Links to other sites

This site links to GitHub, to the makers of the products it mentions and to other sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they do.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear a dispute, except that if you live in another part of the UK or in the EU as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live and may bring a claim in its courts.

Cookies and privacy

The site sets no cookies and has no analytics or advertising. What it does store, and your choices, are explained in Privacy and cookies. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings.

Accessibility

We aim to make the site usable with a keyboard and a screen reader, with readable contrast, and with reduced motion switched on. If something does not work for you, open an issue on the repository and we will try to fix it.

Changes

These terms may change. The latest version is always on this page, and its history is in the public repository.
